The market is attracting billions in investments, reshaping consumer behaviour, and setting a course to overhaul healthcare from a treatment-based to a preventative model.
And the best part? It’s still early:
Longevity investments reached $3.01 billion in 2023, demonstrating the growing confidence in the sector.
McKinsey notes that over 82% of American consumers say wellness is a top priority in their everyday lives.
The global wellness industry, closely intertwined with longevity, is valued at a colossal $2 trillion globally and US$500 billion in the United States.
Wellness influencers like Andrew Huberman, Peter Attia, and Bryan Johnson are building cult followings. Equinox, the high-end gym unicorn in the United States, added a $40k/year longevity add-on.
Personal health concierge businesses like Inside Tracker, Everlab, and Compound are popping up all over the globe.
Phil Newman, Editor-in-Chief of Media Company Longevity Technology, captures the sentiment well, “Longevity has yet to experience its AI moment, like last year’s surge in public awareness and investor interest sparked by ChatGPT, but embedded in these data (2023 investments) are companies that will change the world 10 years from now. We just need to stay on it and stay patient.”
