Ideas

1: Better Than Google

In the world of search engines, Google is king. The search engine giant took over the market in 2000 and has never been overthrown. While this idea might not overtake Google as the biggest search engine, it might be able to take a small piece of the pie away from the tech giant.

Picture this:

You’ve got some back pain because you’re sitting down all day working. You’re on the lookout for an ergonomic office chair. You enter that search into Google, and you get 50 “Top 10 Ergonomic Office Chair” lists. But they’re all from professional reviewers who spend 1 week with the product, write a review, and move onto the next product.

Maybe not the most trustworthy source.

So you head over to the next most reliable source—Amazon. Taking some options from the top 10 lists, you enter them into the search bar and look at the reviews. But you know that most of these reviews are bots, and it takes a lot of time to sort through the ones that appear useful.

Also not the most reliable source.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a community of people who are in the same life stage as you, who also work remotely, to give you their recommendations? That’s the whole idea.

Of course, this idea isn’t limited to office chairs. But it is geared towards people in similar age ranges, with similar interests, who can help each other out with day-to-day questions.

I know what you’re thinking.

Reddit and Quora already serve that purpose.”

Not quite.
